A work of nature ~

Truly, a beautiful found treasure!! Today I discovered an abandoned bird's nest and brought it home ~ I'm in love with the workmanship!! I did have to spray it and place it in a plastic bag so any little critters would be gone but I can't believe what work these must be to create . . .

Oh no! That's my home. I now have an empty nest. Child #4 has left home.

Such a beautiful bird's nest! Isn't nature amazing? When it was getting ready to snow the other day I saw squirrels carrying off bundles of leaves. I thought maybe they were insulating their homes to keep them warmer. Their nests are also works of art although I have never held one in my hands. Enjoy!

I have several nest that were given to me by people who know that I LOVE nests. To me they are miraculous and amazing. The smallest is a hummingbird nest, which is TINY. The most unusual came from a barn. It's made of horse hair and was hanging.

What did you spray this with Dawn? I always was told by my father never to even touch a birds nest as they are full of lice and ticks. I love nests and have a hard time finding decorative ones here. I want to try and make one this year if I can figure out how and with what. Maybe I should ask a bird??? LOL!
