New art & a thank you!

First, thank you so very much sweet Becky of On A Wing and A Prayer for my precious little bird and tag ornaments that you made! I love winning contests plus I get to own other's beautiful artwork ~ Thank you Becky . . . I love them both!

Next, here's a piece of artwork I created today inside of an old, old cigar box with beautiful graphics! I featured two nests with eggs and the title, "sweet home of the little birds." Why do I like nests, birds and eggs so much?? I don't know. There must be a represetative meaning somewhere in there. So many of you like them too! I should get it in my Etsy shop tonight ~

Update: I tore out those humongo eggs and painted and speckled these smaller ones, I'm much more pleased with the look of these. The others looked like chicken eggs!

Can you believe that Christmas is so very close?? I'm so totally not ready but for some reason I'm not stressed. Everyone in our little family's finances are tight this year and I think that we all realize it and also realize that it doesn't really matter. As long as we are all healthy, happy and together ~ that's really what matters. Below: the wreath on our front door, a photo of our tree and three chubby snowguys that I made a few years back .

Dawn,
Your blog and bird-themed projects remind me of a quote I love that I clipped from Victoria magazine and have pasted in my home scrapbook. It reads ..."We are but Birds of Passage and must build our nests out of what materials we can find." ~Lady Wilson 1889

Thank you for the beauty and inspiration (not to mention your kind comment on my blog--I'll be posting more about our England trip soon).

Warmly, Rebecca

Dawn,
Your work is so heart touching and I too love birds nests, feathers, and eggs, perhaps one of us will discover the meaning and share it with the other. Merry Christmas, Miss Sandy

I know what you mean about this time of year being tough when finances are tough.
We will not be getting gifts for friends at all this year, and relatives will go without. We will only have one gift to give to each of our kids. I have to feel ok about this. We are together and healthy. And the bills need to be paid.
We all need to remember the real reason we celebrate Christmas.
