I just can't believe it . . .

Dan Folgelberg has passed away ~ at the young age of 56, can you believe this? I discovered his music in college, the big three months that I went to college (I was going to be an art major, imagine that), when I went to a party hosted by one of the other art students. His music was just wonderful to me. I slow danced to a wonderful song that night and thought to myself, I have to have one of his albums (no, not a CD but an album). Boy am I feeling old. Technology has a way of doing that to you, you know. I'm sad about his passing, he was way too young. It was advanced prostate cancer. Well, I can only think that he is singing with the angels today . . .

That is so sad. I had heard this year about his prostate cancer and read what he had to say on his website.

I'm 56 and his music brings back many happy memories.

I'm sad too. His music brings back great memories for me too. And, yes, I too had lots of "albums and 8-tracks!"

Blessings,

Sher

I was so sad to hear this as well. I loved his music. More like storytelling, really. And that sweet tenor voice, carried me into far too many day dreams. His gentleness and talent will be missed.
And now on a happier note- Yay for selling the beds!!

Hi Dawn ~

I just read about this on the CNN site this morning and was so saddened to see he'd lost the battle. He is indeed singing with the angels now.

On another topic, I just found your blog via the Victoria forums, and was (small world!) surprised to see several eBay and EHAG friends among your links. I hope it's okay, I've added your link to my blog as well. :)

Wishing a you a happy and creative holiday season....

Hi Dawn,
So sad about Dan ~ I've enjoyed his music for a long time. His voice had a clear, sweet sound that is missing in today's music.

Congrats on your awards ~ you deserve all you get and more!!! :)

Hugs, Bebe :)

P.S. Look for a little something in the mail from me.... :)

Dawn, though at the time I was not really aware of his music, I saw Dan Fogelberg in concert here in Seattle ten years ago. By the time he was just four songs into the set, I had become a fan. Sitting out on the pier under the stars on a warm summer night, watching the sun set behind the Olympic mountains, with his melodic voice wrapping around us, it was magical. I am certain that must be exactly what is happening in Heaven today....angels sitting and swaying to his music.

I heard of this yesterday.....just so sad. I enjoyed his music while I was in high school, his music conveyed such a gentle spirit and he had the face of an angel. Thanks for remembering him with this post.

We were shocked to read about Dan Folgelbergs passing in our newspaper. His music was a favourite of my hubby and mine ~ and our children loved it too. We were just listening to one of our favourites - Auld Lang Sine.
