Sweet friend ~

I had to post and share with you some sweetness. Don't we need more sweetness in our lives?? Karin of Meandering Travels of Mindless Thoughts came to visit me Friday at the store and brought me another wonderful homemade pound cake that tastes heavenly!!
She's always so thoughtful and sweet . . . exactly what we each need in our day to day lives. Sometimes just holding a door open for someone can be a kindness you can do for another person. I've come to realize as I mature that people crave kindness and need it. They need sweetness in their lives to thrive. And the more sweet they can receive, the more sweetness they can pay forward. Because, we all know how good it feels to be kind. It's not just beneficial for the recipient but for the giver as well.

Thank you sweet Karin, for being so very thoughtful!

A big AMEN on your sweetness post...it benefits everyone when we are kind or sweet to somebody...or for that matter ourselves at any given time...we sometimes w/o knowing it renew the spirit of someone who may have been lost or saddened or feeling helpless...but experiencing a sweet unsolicited act of kindness...can do much to restore that person...along with the person who paid it forward or better yet for those around to witness such a giving act. I do think as we get older...at least it's how I'm feeling these days...that we do become somewhat more reflective...we take the time to consider others and their feelings. Personally I thank God for that! I think this is a wonderful "season" in our lives...and I just pray that I can always bless someone by my actions...

Thanks for such a thought provoking and "sweet" post...I know you are a lovely person inside and out...just by your heavenly post....I enjoy reading your thoughts...and seeing that precious little Ella...how IS she doing these days...looking at her reminds me of a song my children used to listen and sing along to when they were little...it was always in my cassette player in the car...the cassette (yes I'm old it was b/f CD'S) I believe was "Children Sing Praises"...or something like that...but their was a song...that a little child sang about "Germ, Germ the invisible dog."...How she hid him in her pocket on her what to church one day...to play...then it goes on with the chorus...Germ, Germ the Invisible Dog...I'm gonna have to find that cassette...I know I saved it...and play it...then have it transferred over to a CD...so my future grandbabies can hear it...and hear their parents sing right along w/it...it was a huge hit!! Great memories.

Blessings...

I couldn't agree more. In recent years much more importance is on getting ahead....do what ever it takes to succeed. I guess my idea of success isn't the same as many have been lead to believe. It could explain why so many are battling with depression. To some sweetness is seen as a sign of weakness. I say God bless the person that continues to share kindness. Your right it takes so little to just be nice and you never know how that other person might really need hope at that moment.
Best,
Kathy

Dawn, lovely words and so true...it is much better to give...and being nice IS nice...i have found while making a few little gifts this past week that it makes me so happy to do something nice for someone, just because...that cake was packaged up so beautifully, how sweet.
