How old are you...in your mind??

Do you ever stop and ask yourself, "How can I possibly be this age?" I can't believe that I am really 45 years old. In my mind I am 19. Really. I guess because this is how old I was when I married. Do you think our parent's generation feels this way? Do they wonder, "How in the world did I become this age?"

But when I apply my makeup everyday and look at myself, I realize I am indeed 45. My eyeshadow doesn't seem to glide as smoothly across my eyelids the way it did at 19. And the puffiness! Yuck.

Well, this is not meant to be a negative post, not at all. I'm so thankful that I have been given all these years to be on this earth, to love my family and friends. And as they say, "time marches on." Oh and "they" also say, "it marches right across your face!" xxoo, Dawn

Morning Dawn! Well right now I feel and look 50, but I'm only 38! LOL!!!! My youngest had 4 vaccines yesterday and kept me up all night:) Oh! and I went to the site Lori has posted to vote for you and wrote a blurb about your blog:) Ok! First of all thank you so much for nominating me for the nice manners award. You are too sweet! Second, to answer your question, I would say normally I feel like a bumbling teenager who is "playing house" or "playing grown-up". Hope that makes sense. But I am seeing laugh lines that weren't there a year ago and I discovered my first grey hairs this year so now I realize I'm just a bumbling 38 year old! LOL!! Good topic girl! Love, Jamie

I can sooo relate to your post...ugh unfortunately!! Yep, the darn eye crinkles just don't look at darlin' on me as they do on my hubby!! Had to tell you too, the lampshade you transformed looks gorgeous!! Keep with that "feeling like your 19"...it will keep you younger as the time keeps on marchin :)

I stopped counting my age in years when I turned 29. Now when people ask how old I am (though I never tell), I have to do the mental math in my head! lol I stopped counting at 29, and I still feel like 29! =)

Dawn, I know exactly what you mean, but no matter what the years do to my face, I hope I am able to keep my heart and attitude young. I think that's why we feel younger than we look, dont you?

I rarely feel old, I may look older but inside I feel young. You have beautiful eyes. I always wanted brown eyes. Nita

So much to think about :) I think about things like that everyday.

You do have beautiful eyes....they are the "gateway" to the soul.

I love reading your blog, Dawn.

Smiles,
~Tonya

That's too funny, Dawn. You're right I do feel like I'm 25 and not 43 :( When I look at my boys, ages 25 & 20, I remember myself at that age and can't believe that time has marked on!

I also feel the same way, how and when did I get this old? Every year when my son has his birthday,I think..wow he's getting older (he's in mid 30's now), but for some reason I don't feel in my 50's, until I look in the mirror.

I can so totally identify with your post, well, except that I always have felt older than my actual age?!?!? But now, that dang number is catching up!!!
I don't mind the number - but I don't like the effects my body have endured! Ick!!!

On the really bright side ........your eye is really beautiful!!!

Blessings!
Julie

I have to agree, I think I slept through some years or something because I have no idea how I got here and that lady in the mirror is not me! I won't even go to the hands...those are not mine either! LOL :) I'm not 41...er almost 42...I'm 20+21. Have a great weekend Dawn, I love your blog.
