You want an amazing glaze for that cake?

I have to share this recipe with you. I've used it on the pound cake before and it just absolutely puts it over the top. You may like it plain or you can try this:

Melt one stick of butter or margarine in a saucepan
Add one cup of sugar
Add 1/2 tsp of baking soda
Add 1/2 cup of buttermilk.

Bring to a boil. Take off the heat. Pour this mixture over the cake as soon as it is finished baking and still in the tube pan. Let stand one hour in the pan.

Believe me, this is not something you need to make every week ~ I'm not sure what the nutritional value is but on the yummy scale, it's off the charts!

Buttermilk! Sounds like a great recipe! My hubby loves using buttermilk in recipes (he does his fair share of cooking around here)! =)

Just found your blog spot. I am going to try cake recipe today. Just went to store to get buttermilk and sour cream. My famiy loves scartch cakes.
